Hopeless hopes !!

Translating a hindi saying... the whole world is enslaved to hope... yes it is indeed. How many times should we burn our fingers by learning the same old lesson that what I hoped to happen did not, but yet hope for yet another hope to succeed... are we foolhardy or what ?

Recent Tsunami is a great example, who in the normal world would expect the omnious christmas night to wake up to a disaster. Imagine how many hopes were crushed by the power of water slashing against them in peaceful slumber of sunday early morning. How many !!!, some of them did not even posses the cognition to hope. Moments like these reflect our race behind material collection,status symbol, power etc... is God a sadist, to see you pray to him for all good things in life on christmas and slimily laugh to himself , poor you, none of your hopes as prayers will succeed, but are we in the same plane to really judge him and his actions.

See, that is the sad thing about all this, we always try to discourage a thought that God is a sadist,why, are we fearing the worst... just in case we dont think of him like this... is he going to save us ... who knows ??? I need to survive a disaster to write this :-) But truly, if we sit and think for a moment, we attach so much of importance to all our accomplishments that if both our prayers and our reality match... yes God has been graceful, but not otherwise. any reader will be confused... am i an aethist or believer... I am neither. I still yet to find myself.

Are we capable to take in both pain and pleasure the same way.... can we take it as the will of god... a super natural power unseen and idolized by many forms in many religions... no we cannot... if you do... then we wouldnt feel the suffering. Hope is so ruthless, that every one who clings onto it, is also hopeful that hope will not leave them. So does it mean, we can all live without hope... that is not possible, the fact that Iam writing this is with thehope that someone will read it to resonate my thoughts... see that is the principle truth of hope, it entices you to cling to it, but for which we cant move forward in our lives. in all our march from birth to death, hope is the only companion that proves to be a friend or an enemy depening on the instance of hope that we have.

Almost all the time, we always have some back up hope, if you know what I mean, if instance hope A does not happen, then I will cling on to B if not to C... and so on. We dont stop at one, do we, or to put it rightly, we cannot stop at one. I would say hope is a social enemy, it has created a society that demands based on a hope of a single person. In the process of satisfying the needs of the society hopes of some get shattered and others get accomplished... why is this. are we trying to maintain a universal balance of hopes somewhere, is it that the law of conservation of energy holds good for hope also... ie, the net sum of hope in the entire universe is zero... so some hopes get shattered and others get accomplished..., not sure !!

Let us hope that none of our hopes turn out to be hopeless hopes.
